So... What is a Blended or Hybrid Event Anyway?
The event industry has been turned upside-down since 2020, and we've all had to adapt in one fashion or another. Whereas events used to be all "Live and In Person", we've all gone virtual for a time. But since coming out of the pandemic, we are in a new age where livestreaming is expected as part of every live event. But as each event is different, there are unique opportunities to use these new powerful streaming tools.
"Live Streaming" is simply pushing a feed from the event to some platform where remote viewers can watch in real time.
A "Blended Event" includes separate, simultaneous, and usually disparate online and and in-person components. This is akin to the traditional 'main stage' and 'breakout rooms'.
A "Hybrid Event" is an event where attendees can be both in person and remote at the same time and receiving the same core experience. Remote presenters can also present to the in-person crowd or remote viewers. This can become a complicated endeavor, but we have enormous experience in executing Hybrid Events. We've done nationwide and worldwide events, and even setup a few filming situations where the director was in a different country!
